The “Icing Story”

There was a moment in my life when I had to ask myself a very difficult question.

At the time I had just completed my Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Health (magna cum laude).

On paper, everything looked right.

But one day I was standing in front of the mirror, holding a glazed doughnut, and I realized something I couldn’t ignore anymore.

I wasn’t a great walking example of health.

In that moment I asked myself one honest question:

"Todd… have you really given life everything you have?"

And another one quickly followed.

"Is this the image you want to represent?"

As icing from the doughnut began running down my forearm, the answer became very clear.

From that day forward, I made a decision.

I committed to changing my life.

Not through gimmicks.
Not through social media trends.
Not through whatever workout or supplement happened to be popular at the moment.

Instead, I committed to science-based training and disciplined consistency.

Five days a week I trained with purpose. I focused on structured strength training and high-intensity interval training designed to push the body into what exercise science calls the “afterburn effect,” where your metabolism continues burning calories long after the workout ends—even while you sleep.

Within 9 months, the results were dramatic.

I went from 225 pounds and 28% body fat to 185 pounds and 7% body fat.
 

MY 9-MONTH CHALLENGE

That transformation changed more than just my physique. It changed my mindset.

It taught me something important about fitness—and about life.

Most people chase the icing.

The newest supplements.
The latest fitness trends.
The shortcut everyone is talking about.

But real transformation doesn’t start with icing.

It starts with the cake.

The cake is the foundation: discipline, consistency, intelligent programming, and a commitment to doing the work when no one is watching.

Once the foundation is built, the icing takes care of itself.

That philosophy is the foundation of how I coach today.

My mission is simple: help people build the cake first—strength, discipline, and consistency—so the results become the icing on top.


What Sets Me Apart

Today, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (magna cum laude), two associate degrees, and certifications as a Personal Trainer and a Sport and Conditioning Coach from the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). I am also AED/CPR/BLS certified and self-insured through ISSA's insurance affiliate, Allied Professionals Insurance (API), with coverage of $1 million dollars.
